Anabas testudineus

I'm just thinking to update my blog and now I come with this entry.

Most of the people in this world have their own pet. Some love to have cat, others may be like dog, rabbit, hamster and so on. Unfortunately, I hate all of this animals especially the furry one. But the most I hate is frog. My adrenaline will be secreted when I came across a frog; whether it's a small or big size frog….the toy frog just enough to scare me. I scared about this creature maybe because of its ugly look even though there was a fairy tale in which a gorgeous princess kiss a frog and turn it to become a handsome prince…..(definitely this will not happen to me…..hahahaha). So, what I would like to have as a pet? The answer is I love to keep any aquatic organisms, fish or tortoise for example…

A few day ago, when I came to the hostel I asked some of the girls where is the tortoise that they had showed to me before this…..unluckily they told me that one of their room mate had bring it home, but they told me there was a "ikan puyu" and gave it to me. I bring it back and then went to Mukah to buy a packet of Takara Fish Food. But, I noticed that this ikan puyu didn't attract to the food. So, by using Mr Google I start to search for any ideas based on food for ikan puyu. Then I came across to one feedback from a website in which the writer stated that ikan puyu can be fed with any foods such as rice, food wastes and even houseflies…. Ok, I will try it later but now I still insist to feed it with the fish food.

So, is this entry related to the title above???? Ok…let the story begin.. Anabas testudineus from family Anabantidae was a scientific name for Climbing Perch which also known as as ikan puyu or ikan betuk. This species is a common fresh water fish and its habitat normally found at forest and rural streams, canals, drains, ponds and reservoirs. Some people believed that ikan puyu has mystical power because of its capability to fight black magic. I have no idea about this; whether it is a fact or just a myth…But for sure I will keep my ikan puyu as well as I can…hehehehe

Here are some pictures to end this entry…

For the time being, I still keep this ikan puyu in a pail. I wish I could buy a small plastic aquarium next time….

The fish foods just float on the surface of water…
